Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Addis Ababa – Tiya – Rift Valley Lakes – Awasa
Upon arrival in Addis Ababa, drive south to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Tiya Stelae. Continue through the Great Rift Valley, visiting Lake Ziway and Lake Langano, known for their birdlife, hippos, and scenic beauty.
Proceed to Shashemene, home of the Rastafarian community, for a cultural visit. Continue to Awasa for overnight stay.
Overnight in Awasa (HAILE Resort)
Day 2: Awasa – Dorze Village – Arba Minch
Early morning visit to the Awasa fish market before breakfast. Drive to Chencha highlands to visit the Dorze people, famous for their beehive-shaped bamboo houses, weaving traditions, and cultivation of enset (false banana).
Enjoy cultural interaction and village exploration before continuing to Arba Minch.
Overnight in Arba Minch (HAILE Resort)
Day 3: Arba Minch – Konso – Turmi (Hamer Region)
Drive to Konso and visit a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape known for terraced agriculture and wooden grave markers. Explore a traditional village and enjoy panoramic hill views.
Continue to Dimeka market, where Hamer, Karo, and Tsemay people gather in a colorful weekly exchange.
Proceed to Turmi.
Overnight in Turmi (Emerald Lodge)
Day 4: Turmi – Karo Tribe – Hamer Villages
Morning excursion to the Karo tribe along the Omo River. Known for their artistic body painting and scarification traditions, the Karo are one of the smallest tribes in Ethiopia.
Enjoy panoramic views over the Omo River at Kortcho village.
In the afternoon, return to Turmi and visit Hamer villages. Experience their traditional lifestyle and, if available, witness ceremonies such as bull jumping and Evangadi dance celebrations.
Overnight in Turmi (Emerald Lodge)
Day 5: Turmi – Omorate – Jinka
Drive to Omorate and visit the Dassanech tribe after crossing the Omo River by traditional boat. Explore their villages and unique river-based lifestyle.
Return to Turmi and visit the lively weekly market shared by Hamer, Karo, and Dassanech communities.
Continue to Jinka.
Overnight in Jinka (NASA Hotel)
Day 6: Mago National Park – Mursi Tribe – Ari Village
Early morning drive through Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, famous for lip plates worn by women and body scarification traditions among men. Explore their remote villages and cultural environment.
Return to Jinka and visit the local museum.
In the afternoon, visit an Ari village known for agriculture, pottery, and traditional craftsmanship.

Day 7: Jinka – Fly to Addis Ababa – Departure
Fly back to Addis Ababa. Enjoy a short city tour if time permits, followed by souvenir shopping.
In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner at a traditional Ethiopian restaurant with cultural music and dance performances.
Transfer to the airport for your international departure.
