Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Fly to Jinka – Mursi Tribe – Turmi (Cultural Introduction)
Morning flight from Addis Ababa to Jinka. Upon arrival, meet your guide and begin an immediate excursion into Mago National Park to visit the Mursi tribe, one of the most iconic ethnic groups in the Omo Valley. The Mursi are widely known for their unique cultural tradition of lip plates worn by women and their strong pastoral lifestyle.
After the visit, continue driving toward Turmi. On the way, stop to visit the Bana people and experience their rural village life. Arrive in Turmi in the evening.
Overnight: Lodge in Turmi
Note: Participation in ceremonies such as bull jumping or traditional dances may be possible depending on local schedules and may require additional arrangements.
Day 2: Omorate – Dassanech – Dimeka Market – Hamer Village
After breakfast, drive toward Omorate to visit the Dassanech (Geleb) people living near the Omo River. You will cross the river using a traditional local boat to reach their village and learn about their unique river-based lifestyle.
Continue to Dimeka Market (Tuesday or Saturday), one of the most colorful and active tribal markets in the Omo Valley, where Hamer, Karo, and Dassanech communities gather for trade and social exchange.
In the afternoon, return to Turmi and enjoy a guided walk to a nearby Hamer village, where you will experience their daily lifestyle, traditions, and cultural practices.

Day 3: Turmi – Arba Minch (Karo & Konso Tribes)
After breakfast, drive to Murulle to visit the Karo tribe, famous for their artistic body painting using natural pigments such as soil, plants, and animal materials. Enjoy panoramic views of the Omo River from the village.
Continue your journey to Konso, a UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape known for its terraced hills, stone village structures, and wooden memorial statues honoring ancestors and heroes.
Arrive in Arba Minch in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Arba Minch – Lake Chamo Boat Trip – Local Exploration
Early morning, take a boat trip on Lake Chamo, one of Ethiopia’s most spectacular wildlife experiences. You will see large populations of hippos and giant Nile crocodiles, along with rich birdlife and scenic landscapes.
Return to Arba Minch and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure or optional local exploration.

Day 5: Arba Minch – Dorze Village – Addis Ababa (Departure)
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Addis Ababa. On the way, visit the Dorze village, famous for its beehive-shaped bamboo houses, weaving traditions, and terraced mountain farming systems.
The Dorze people are also known for cultivating enset (false banana) and maintaining sustainable agricultural practices in highland environments.
Continue driving through the scenic Great Rift Valley with lunch en route. Arrive in Addis Ababa in the late afternoon. In the evening, enjoy a farewell cultural dinner with traditional music and dance before your international departure.
