Travel Itinerary
Day 2: Yeha Temple & Debre Damo
Drive through the dramatic Adwa mountains to visit the 8th-century BC Temple of Yeha. Continue to the cliff-top monastery of Debre Damo, where access is gained via a 15m leather rope (men only), before arriving in Hawzien.
Day 3: The Heights of Abune Yemata Guh
Ascend the vertical cliffs of the Gheralta range to reach Abune Yemata Guh. This stunning 6th-century church features some of the best-preserved wall paintings in Ethiopia and offers a breathtaking view of the valley below.
Day 4: Mariam Korkor & Daniel Korkor
Enjoy a scenic morning hike to the churches of Mariam Korkor and Daniel Korkor. These sites are known for their impressive architecture and expansive views over the Tigrayan plains.
Day 5: Abreha we Atsbeha & Mekelle
Visit the rock-hewn church of Abreha we Atsbeha, famous for its grand interior and royal tombs. After a final stop at the Yohannes IV Museum in Mekelle, you will be transferred to your hotel or the airport.
