Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Addis Ababa – Lalibela – Rock-Hewn Churches
Early morning transfer to the domestic terminal of Addis Ababa for your flight to Lalibela.
Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and begin exploring the world-renowned Lalibela Rock-Hewn Churches—often referred to as the “New Jerusalem.”
Visit the first group of monolithic churches carved directly into red volcanic rock and connected by tunnels and passageways. After lunch, continue to the second cluster, symbolically representing the River Jordan.
End the day with a visit to the iconic Bete Giorgis (St. George Church), a freestanding cross-shaped masterpiece carved deep into the rock.

Day 2: Lalibela – Gondar (The “Camelot of Africa”)
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your flight to Gondar.
Known as the “Camelot of Africa,” Gondar was Ethiopia’s royal capital in the 17th and 18th centuries. Upon arrival, begin exploring the UNESCO-listed Fasil Ghebbi castle complex, featuring impressive stone palaces built by Emperor Fasilides and his successors.
Continue to Debre Berhan Selassie Church, famous for its beautifully painted ceiling of angelic faces, and visit the historic Fasilides Bath, still used during the Timkat (Epiphany) festival.

Day 3: Gondar – Bahir Dar – Lake Tana – Addis Ababa
Early morning drive (approx. 2.5–3 hours) to Bahir Dar, passing through scenic highland countryside.
Upon arrival, take a boat trip on Lake Tana to visit historic island monasteries such as Ura Kidane Mehret and Azwa Maryam, known for their vibrant medieval religious paintings.
